Bangalore: Patna Pirates and Puneri Paltan drew 34-34 in an exciting match of the Pro Kabaddi League here on Saturday.
Aslam Inamdar produced a fantastic performance as Puneri Paltan took a seven-point first-half lead, but Patna Pirates fought back through raider Sachin’s second-half efforts to ensure the game ended in a draw.
Aslam and Mohit raided to help Paltan put their noses in front at 5-3 in the 5th minute.
Patna defender Sunil pulled off some fantastic tackles but Paltan kept pushing forward. However, the Pirates inflicted an ALL-OUT in the 11th minute to take a three-point lead at 12-9.
But moments later, Puneri Paltan reduced three-time champion Patna to two men on the mat and regained the lead at 15-13.
Soon after, Puneri’s Alankar Patil tackled Rohit Gulia to execute an ALL-OUT. Riding on the momentum, the Pune side comfortably led 23-16 at the end of the first half.
The Pirates showed a little more urgency in the second half. Sachin chipped in with some raids as the Pirates got closer to Puneri’s score.
In the 27th minute, the Patna side effected an ALL OUT and got the lead at 26-24. Soon after, Rohit Gulia executed a magnificent raid to help the Pirates extend their lead.
However, the Pune team fought back through raids from Akash Shinde and Aslam and leveled the scores at 30-30.
Both teams continued to win points in tandem and were locked at 34-34 in the final minute of the game when the game ended in a draw.
